The investigation into the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk took another unexpected turn Friday as Fox News correspondent Brooke Singman reported that the suspect, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, had been living with a transgender partner — a biological male in the process of transitioning to female — who is now cooperating with the FBI.
The revelation has sparked a firestorm across political and media circles, as new questions arise about potential motives, ideological influences, and the broader cultural tensions surrounding Kirk’s outspoken political beliefs.
Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA and a well-known conservative figure, was shot and killed during a student event at Utah Valley University earlier this month.
The shooter, later identified as Robinson, fired a single round from a high-powered rifle from approximately 200 yards away, striking Kirk in the neck as he sat under a tent speaking to students. The incident sent shockwaves through the nation and reignited concerns over politically motivated violence.

Authorities confirmed that the weapon has since been recovered, along with casings marked with inflammatory phrases, including “Hey Fascist! Catch!” and “Bella Ciao.”
Investigators are not suggesting the transgender partner had knowledge of the plot, nor is the individual suspected of any involvement. However, the partner’s cooperation has already proven helpful, particularly in reconstructing the days leading up to the attack.
According to reports, the partner confirmed that Robinson left the apartment early on the morning of the event, saying he “wanted to see something for himself.” Robinson did not return home until nearly 12 hours later.
